Mahdi Zoorabadi Presenting his paper at 2018 Coal Operators Conference

SCT consulting staff Mahdi Zoorabadi and Yvette Heritage recently presented papers at the Proceedings of the 2018 Coal Operators Conference held at the University of Wollongong, NSW during 7 – 9th February.

Mahdi Zoorabadi presented his paper: Insights into the Energy Sources of Bursts in Coal Mines and the Effective of Prevention and Control Measures.

Yvette Heritage presented her paper: Mechanics of Rib Deformation at Moranbah North Mine – A Case Study. Yvette was also honoured to co‑chair a session at the conference. 

Ben Blacka managed the SCT supplier’s booth with Holville – showcasing SCT’s latest products 3rd Generation 2 Anchor Rock-It with remote logging capability using Holville’s RoofAlert technology, as well as the soon to come SmartShear which has been developed as part of ACARP project C25060.

SmartShear will assist in defining strata and bedding plane shear zones about excavations – and quantify areas of high shear strain on cable bolts. Final intrinsic safety certification has been submitted and awaiting approval. Non I.S versions available now.
