The Australian Coal Association Research Program (ACARP) held their 2022 Research and Industry Excellence Awards, whilst also celebrating 30 years of ACARP.
Yvette Heritage was honoured to attend and collect an award on Winton Gale’s behalf for his “Research excellence in science and advancement of coal burst research”.
Roger Wischusen highlighted that “Industry excellence awards are rare and they go to people who go above and beyond for the industry and make themselves available.” Thank you Winton for your passion and commitment to the coal industry!
When collecting the award Winton said, “It is an honour to receive this award for the achievements in the field of science applied to mining issues, in particular coal bursts. However, I would like to acknowledge that all research has a beginning based on the prior research and the interaction with workers and colleagues in the field. I am gratified to have advanced the science to apply to mining issues.”
Thank you also to ACARP for creating a platform in which people can conduct research to provide solutions to real industry problems.
