SCT Operations (Strata Control Technology)

4.1.2 Lab Test Analysis

SCT work with a range of preferred NATA approved laboratories to structure a testing program suited to your project. Drilling programs are expensive: ensuring the appropriate samples are collected, preserved and tested to quantify the right parameters is essential.

Proper analysis of laboratory data requires a thorough understanding of the test process – and its limitations. Sample size, load rate, pore pressure influence, sample hysteresis, sample preservation, loading and unloading cycling are some of the parameters to be considered when analysing test results.

The ability to quantitatively assess rock mass geotechnical properties through remote means – notably wireline geophysics – enables surface coring and testing programs to be optimised.
